Almond Path - A Nomadic Night

Chemin d’Amande is a warm breeze of grain, veiled with the whiteness of a freshly picked almond. Its gentle warmth carries notes of an embracing sweetness.
A long time ago, the Muslim caliph Ibn-Almundim reigned over the Algarve, a region in modern-day Portugal. Legend has it that, returning victorious from a battle, he brought back many prisoners, including Gilda, a beautiful queen from the northern lands.
Although initially serene, Gilda became increasingly sad, tormented by nostalgia for the whiteness of snow. Healers could not cure her melancholy, until, on the advice of a mysterious woman, the king filled the valley with flowering almond trees. When Gilda saw the valley covered in white petals, her joy returned.
Since then, the Algarve has remained the realm of almond blossoms, guardian of this ancient legend.
